·3 years agoAs a buyer you don't have a choice.
The seller can decide if they want to use that option or not.
Sellers are tired of buyers making offers then not paying if the offer is accepted, so Ebay finally decided to do something about it.

Mentor3 years agoThis is not a choice. eBay has put this process in place to protect sellers from buyers who make/accept offers and then don't pay. The only difference between the old way and now is that you provide your payment information when you make an offer instead of after it's accepted. If you plan to pay, there should be no problem with this. You're just doing the same thing in a different order.

OP3 years agoThanks for the info and explanations. I did not know what was going on. I accepted the seller's offer and tried to pay for the item. I was shocked to find out that the payment was already sent without any action on my part. Thanks again!
