How To Start A Lost Mail Search With An Ebay Tracking #??
On Feb 19th (Postal Holiday) I bought an ebay mailing label. On Feb 20th I handed the package to the postal clerk at my post office. My post office did not scan the package. The post offices in my town do not process mail, that is done at a bigger town 120 miles away. That distribution center also did not scan the package. I have had this happen a couple of times in the past and then the delivering post office scans the package and shows 'out for delivery' and it gets delivered. This time, no post office any where has scanned the package. It has been a week and my buyer has not received it yet. I informed the buyer of the above information and asked for 2 more days before I refund him his money.
My question for this group is: How do I start a Lost Mail Search with the ebay tracking #? I do know the post office doesn't recognize anybody else's tracking numbers and won't do a lost mail search for it.

Mentor2 years ago@elham_9 I hate to be the bearer of bad news but if the post office never scanned in your package and it didn't receive any scans along the way there is NO way to file a postal insurance claim or track the package. The postal service has no record of the package UNTIL it's scanned in.
If the buyer asks for a refund then you will need to issue one. If you don't and they have filed a refund request then they can ask eBay to step in and force a refund from you on the 4 th day. You will get a DEFECT and you won't get your sellers fees back.
