How to ship a fragile vintage watch where the listed price is $22
Hello. I have a few items from childhood that I'm trying to sell, specifically a couple 1970's watches. They aren't worth too much but some people do collect them, therefore they need to arrive undamaged. I know how to package them for shipping (bubble wrap within a small box), but I do not know if it is better to ship the packaged watch in a cardboard box (seems pricey) or ship them in a poly-mailer (seems risky but more cost effective). What is recommended when the item is less than $25 but fragile? It seems I see sellers ship USPS Ground Advantage mostly, is that what is recommended in this case?

OP8 months agoThank you for replying. That's what I will do then. Another question if you don't mind, I'm guessing from your name you might sell comics. We have a few comics and a couple old baseball magazines from my husband's youth. Again, not valuable. Just old and something someone might collect. How do you ship those so that they arrive in the condition you stated in your listing? We have things we could list, we just avoid due to not knowing how to ship. Thanks in advance for any input.

Mentor8 months ago@raisinbee. Single comics I place in grocery bag ( or similar) over the bagged and boarded comic.
Next I use two sturdy pieces of cardboard box that I use box tape to secure the " sandwich". It's best to use cardboard with the grain in different directions on each side as it makes it harder to ship.
Then I place the comic in polyvinyl envelope.
If I have sets of 6 or more I usually use priority bubble flat rate.
