How to send an invoice to buyer when there's no option to do that.
Summary: ksc73 encountered a challenge when trying to charge a buyer for insurance on a $775 pair of designer earrings. The buyer agreed to the additional cost, but the platform didn't offer an option to send an invoice without cancelling and restarting the transaction. lady_madonna advised that insurance should be covered by the seller, as the buyer is protected by a money-back guarantee if the item is damaged or not delivered.
Buyer purchased designer earrings valued at 775. When I was preparing to ship and buy label, offered to purchase insurance up to that amount for 11.78 (buyer is paying shipping). I asked the buyer if she wanted that and she said yes. In trying to send an invoice to her for that amount, AI chat instructed me to go to 'more actions", and send invoice There isn't that option. Buyer asked about venmo, and I tolde her against ebay rules. Is there anyway to send an invoice without cancelling the transaction and starting over? How long would it take her to be reimbursed? I don't want to lose this sale, (I know I could pay the shipping).

Mentor1 week agoYou pay for the insurance not the buyer. You as the seller are the one who needs the insurance not the buyer.

Mentor1 week agoYou cannot charge the buyer any more for shipping than they already paid. Postal insurance is for the benefit of the seller, so the seller pays the cost of insuring the package, not the buyer.
The buyer has the Ebay Money Back Guarantee in case they do not receive the item or the item is damaged.
