How to sell “No returns accepted†*sealed* electronics
Hi all,
I have a concern regarding BNIB sealed electronics, like kindles, gopros, Apple products, etc… most are a few years old and would be considered vintage/collectibles at this point. For that reason, I am looking to sell them and not accept returns, since an open box would change the value of my item.
A little backstory: I got scammed on here a few years back with sealed iPod shuffles I sold, where the buyer said 5 of the 10 I sold him were not working and attempted to return to me even though they were clearly stated as no returns in the description. EBay sided with the scammer, eventually, and said that it was too late for me to even get the open boxes back, leaving me with no money or product. Of course, before all of this, the scammer had made sure he got a good bulk discount on all 10 items; and 10 sealed iPod shuffles eventually surfaced in his same city and were offered… on eBay. Needless to say, I am apprehensive now and I wouldn’t want this to happen again.
Is there a way I can present these products as collectibles and no guarantee of them working? Any special verbiage I should be including? These were all purchased many years back, as incentives for employees, and a few remnant unclaimed ones have just been pulled out of storage. I would love to benefit from the value of a sealed deadstock item but wouldn’t want to have to respond for vintage technology’s ability to perform.
Anyone with similar experience, please? I would very much appreciate the advise ðŸ™
thank you all in advance

Mentor2 years agoThere is no absolute no returns on eBay - people are going to expect electronics to work, and if you list them as new or used, they must work as intended. It doesn’t matter that they are sealed NOS.
Even listing as parts only is not a guarantee that eBay would not force a return.
There is a category for vintage computing, but it is going to need to be more than a few years old - generally vintage is 20 years old.
I think you should ask on the selling discussion board - you will have a wider audience to get more ideas.
