How to return an item after the return has been closed?

Question

I had originally opened a return request for a reason that was eventually resolved, therefore I didn't need return the item. However, it turns out that the item has a separate issue that requires me to return the item after all. The original return request was closed so now how do I open a new return request? The system isn't letting me open a new one because the status shows "closed".

Once closed, an eBay return cannot be reopened.

You may still have recourse through your payment method. Many credit cards offer up to six months of protection for items that are not as described.
