how to retain top seller status
Unfortunately, your account no longer meets one or more of the Top Rated Seller requirements based on US seller performance standards.
This is the email I received this morning. I think it is because in July I mailed 9 handkerchiefs in 9 envelops to 9 different buyers without tracking. (they weighed less than 3oz and my buyers didn't want to pay $4.00 + for shipping on a $2.00 handkerchief) How can I keep my top seller status? I didn't realize that I'd be punished for mailing items without tracking.
Thanks,

Mentor3 years ago@bigrockdamom The only thing you can do is to sell more items quickly to get your TRS rating back.
I had that happen one time when I messed up the tracking on a combined shipping sale.
What I did was take items I had laying around ( dvds) that I was going to donate anyway as they had no real value. I listed them for 1cent auctions.
If you plan on selling more items that will ship without tracking I recommend using a second seller account. That way you can keep this one TRS.
Keep in mind if you DO combined shipping with items that are tracked that you have to do these steps to add the tracking to all of the items:
When you print the shipping label it's important to select all items and then select print label from the top of the list if the buyer did not pay from an invoice. Then on the next screen it will ask if you want to combine orders, say yes then adjust the package size and weight as needed. This way the tracking is applied to all items.

OP3 years agoThanks for taking the time to clarify this issue. I think eBay should expand the list of items that we can ship in the "standard envelope" As long as the weight is under 3oz we should be able to ship that way. I really don't want to go through opening another account but I see the reasoning. Handkerchiefs would fit nicely in a standard envelope. Since I changed my pricing to cover the tracking cost I haven't sold any handkerchiefs. 😞

Try making bigger lots of hankies, rhat way the shipping may not seem as bad to buyers.
