How to restrict searches for unwanted words?

Used to be able to restrict search result with: -(unwantedword)

Now does not work.

For example search: Coca Cola volley ball, result in several items whose description included the word PIN.

Coca Cola volley ball results in 21 results

Coca Cola volley ball -(pin) results in 1 item.

How to eliminate results with specific words?

If you are using "Best match" sort order, try another sort order. Lately Best match has been finding additional results that do not appear in other sorts.

It is not necessary to put your excluded word in parentheses, unless you want to exclude multiple words separated by commas.

The following search seems to give reasonable results for me, if you are looking for an actual volley ball:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Coca+Cola+volley+ball+-pin&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=10

An alternative search that finds additional results aside from balls:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Coca+Cola+%28volley.ball%2Cvolleyball%29+-pin+-pins&_sop=10&_oac=1
