how to report fraud
My debit card was just charged $1,605 for a fraudlent transaction. I have reported to the bank and should get the money back. But I can't find a way to report this to ebay. I don't want to contact the seller since my hunch is that he is actively involved. The ebay customer service is nonexistent and can't find a good email address to send the information.

Sellers do not have access to your payment information. The seller is not actively involved.
Did you make an offer on anything?
Did you bid on something? eBay will preauthorize, from your funding source, the amount of your bid.
Is there an item number or other information in your purchase history?
This user ID @dr7_723 is new. Is it possible, in a world of ‘anything is possible’, that you didn’t understand, or have knowledge about, how eBay bidding/buying works?

If the transaction appears in your eBay account, change your eBay password immediately, then examine your account details closely for any other changes, particularly to contact information or shipping addresses. Then contact eBay here:

If the transaction does not appear in your eBay account, your eBay account was not hacked but your card number was probably acquired by someone else, and your card issuer must deal with that.
