How to Report Expired Items
Hi everyone. First time posting. I buy a lot of skincare, supplements and other items with expiration dates on them and always ask for batch codes / manufacturing date. Often I'm told one that is long expired and could actually be dangerous to use (less effective or bacterial growth, for instance). I always tell the seller -- and am disappointed to say that very very few take the items down, meaning someone is going to get snookered. Does ebay care about this? Does anyone else? Is there a way to let ebay know? Thanks!

OP2 years agoThanks, but expired product isn't one of the categories and none of them seem to fit. Assume ebay puts the onus of figuring out whether something is still good on the buyer and not the seller.

When you use the report feature on a listing, you would select "prohibited or restricted" as the report category, then "prohibited or restricted" as the report reason, and then "cosmetics" as the detailed reason. Then there is a space to type in a comment and you could type in the expiration date.
