How to report a scam seller
I purchased a designer bag from a seller, seller won’t provide original receipt. Seller blocked me and told me to open a case, I can’t open a case, I can only return an item. I want to alert eBay that the seller is fraudulent. Their other listings have fake items that are categorized as unbranded but clearly have brands on them, like LV bags that are counterfeit. I tried calling for help and the machine hangs up on me and says to check the help page. Anyone have a direct number or know where Live Agent chat is?

You have 3 different threads on the same subject.
You're claiming you received a fake after buying an item that went through the authentication program.
Items that pass the ebay Authenticate process aren't eligible for return if the seller doesn't accept returns. The item was found to be accurately described and pictured and when examine in person, what found to match.
The first step in disputing your purchase is to get a professional authentication from a trusted company. If it's found to be fake and determined that ebay's authentication erred, you can appeal. But unless and until you have proof, you're going to have to keep the bag.
And unless you are expert in authenticating Prada, you can very well be mistaken in your impressions.

I have an account with Prada, I buy directly from Prada and own several of their Double bags- also known as their Prada Cuir bags. If you know Prada and these bags in particular, you know their genuine quality when you have one in front of you.
The inside is meant to be smooth, and the inner lining is sealed flat against the outer layer (which is their signature saffiano leather). If there are areas where the inner lining bubbles, it’s a known fact that this is common in their fake bags. If the inside lining feels rough, that’s also a give away. And of course, smell is important— I love Prada bags for their specific smell. The one I received is like a chemical smell, which usually means it isn’t real leather. Please let me know how someone is supposed to have a third party Authenticator know this if the Authenticator is only on a mobile app?
I wasn’t aware that you can’t return items if they go through authenticate/if the seller has a no refund policy. I feel like that should be written somewhere before you buy, because it just says “eBay authenticate will guarantee and help if it’s counterfeitâ€.
I’d be happy to return and receive a refund if they’d let me but of course I guess that means the next person will potentially buy the same bag and not know as much about Prada as I do.
I sell luxury items on Poshmark, and I usually buy from Posh. I’ve never had any issues as a seller or buyer on Poshmark. I honestly wish I just kept to that platform for second hand items. I saw this Prada bag listed for $1k which is a great price considering it’s usually listed for $4500 or $4700 from Prada itself. The seller had good feedback so I felt comfortable with the purchase. (This listing on eBay came up on Google so of course I thought- maybe I should go for it).
now when I look further at the seller, the majority of feedback is of her as a buyer- not so much selling.
The seller told me their aunt got them the bag and they don’t have the receipt. I politely asked if they could ask their aunt to find the receipt or go into their Prada purchase history (which Prada has) and she said she won’t do that and that I should open a credit card claim and then blocked me. If that isn’t suspicious I don’t know?
I’m sorry if my post comes on strong, I’m just not used to how someone can sell an item that smells of chemicals and isn’t matching the exact quality of the listing? It’s like the seller used a nice bag, photographed and then shipped one that looked similar but with issues on the inside (that aren’t pictured in listing) and cracking/peeling of the ‘“leather†handle.
The seller, after my bag, posted another luxury bag- a Louis Vuitton, that had all the authenticity look alikes (the date code), the logo, etc- but she listed as unbranded and I think that’s how she plans to get away with selling counterfeits from now on. I can’t find that listing anymore but I did screen shot it.
it doesn’t make me feel good knowing the same seller sold me my bag. Would you feel comfortable purchasing a high end bag from someone who has access to other counterfeits? It doesn’t make sense to me, and it goes against eBay policy yet eBay allows the seller to do this?

Mentor3 years agoSeller is not obligated to send you anything more than what is listed for sale. If you think it is counterfeit take it to be authenticated and/or open a Return Request for a refund for an Item Not As Described.

OP3 years agoThanks for your comment. Unfortunately I’m unable to return, it’s not an option when I go into purchases. Seller also won’t offer a return.
