How to recollect payment from the buyer after refund was sent because of shipping
I recently sold an item and shipped it promptly with USPS tracking. After 3 weeks USPS provided no updates on tracking after 2 days from shipment. I opened a search request and claim ticket with USPS. After 3 days or so they posted the item was lost and a claim was being paid. The USPS sent me a refund fr the claim. I in return sent a refund to the buyer. Several days after receiving the USPS refund the buyer received the item from USPS. Given an EBAY initiated refund was sent to the buyer the listing I believe is considered complete. Since USPS delivered the item I was instructed by them to return their claim check because the item was delivered. How can I re-initiate a payment request to the buyer for the item he received following me sending the refund?

Mentor1 year agoSorry that this happened but once you refunded the buyer the purchase is closed and cannot be reopened so eBay will not be able to help you. By eBay rules the buyer has no obligation to either return the item or to repay you. Hopefully the buyer will be honest and offer to do one of these. If they are willing to return the item you should send them a prepaid shipping label to make the return. If they want to repay you then you would need to offer them some means outside of eBay to make the repayment.
