How to Opt Out of Using AI when Creating Listings on My Phone
Summary: maybell17 expressed frustration with using AI to create eBay listings on their mobile app, particularly for vintage items. The AI often generates inaccurate titles and item specifics and changes preset preferences, causing more time-consuming corrections. comics-scifi-collectibles suggested opting into Seller Hub or Business Policies as a potential solution and recommended checking with the eBay community for more advice.
A couple of weeks ago, eBay asked if I wanted to try out creating listings using AI on the mobile app on my phone. I decided to try it just to see how it works. Now I can't figure out how to opt OUT of it.
The reason I want to opt out is that it actually takes me more time to create a listing using AI. I list mostly vintage items so I guess the AI is not as familiar with these types of items. When I create a listing, I upload the photos and then AI creates a title and fills out the Item Specifics. I usually have to correct the title because some of the information it contains will be completely wrong. Once I make the corrections, the AI doesn't correct the Item Specifics. This means I have to manually review all of the item specifics for accuracy. If I was creating a listing on my own, then I wouldn't get the item specifics wrong. I know what they need to be.
Another problem is that the AI/eBay randomly changes other things in my listings including the types of payments that I will accept. I have already set up these seller preferences so normally I wouldn't need to double check them because I have it set up the way I want it.
One other serious problem is that it automatically changes my shipping to include giving the discounted shipping price to customers. This is not how I have my account set up. This causes me to have to spend a lot more time creating my listings. Now I have to save my listings as a draft on my phone and then go to my computer to make sure the shipping is set up correctly because I can't make the change on my phone.
All of these things are causing me to have to spend a lot more time creating a listing using AI, when AI is supposed to save me time.
And of course, the bigger problem is that it is creating listings full of inaccurate information.
So back to my original question, how do I opt out of using AI on the mobile app/phone?
Thank you for your help.

Mentor3 weeks agoYou cannot change the type of payments you will accept. ebay controls that.
ebay recently opted everyone into passing on their shipping discount to the buyer. You can make sure you are charging the retail price here:

The only way I am aware of to stop the AI on the app is to sign up for Seller Hub or Business Policies.
To access Seller Hub:
1. Go to https://www.ebay.com/sh/landing
2. Click Start Using Seller Hub
3. To create a new listing click on the blue create listing button on the upper right of the Overview page.
You can also ask on the APP board to see if fellow APP users have any other advice. https://community.ebay.com/forum/mobile-apps-57915/
