How to obtain refund of defective item
Summary: epsbayboy purchased Keen water shoes that became unusable after just 15 minutes of wear due to faulty straps. They sought a refund, but the seller refused, citing a no-return policy. krazzykats suggested attempting a chargeback with the payment provider, as eBay's guarantee lasts only 30 days.
I bought shoes and after wearing them briefly they fell apart. They are Keen water shoes with straps over the top of the foot. After walking around with them for less than 15 minutes total, various straps came loose from the bottom of the shoes and they are unusable. So I would like a refund since the shoes as sold were defective. I am not able to return them since the seller does not accept returns. I contacted the seller but they denied my request. How can I obtain a refund in this situation? Thank you for your help.
Update: I tried obtaining help from the Ebay AI assistant, but it replied "Unfortunately we only allow opening returns on items bought in the last 90 days in this experience". Is there any recourse after this time period for defective items? It took me a few months before using the shoes since I bought them in preparation for a trip and had no use for them before the trip.

Mentor1 week agoYou can try a chargeback with your funding source.
eBay guarantee is only 30 days.
