How to obtain refund for item never received
I purchased an item for my wife's birthday in December. The item never came even though the seller entered shipping information saying it was delivered. When I questioned the seller, that person admitted that they made a mistake, and that although I live in New York, the item went to Ohio. The Seller told me that they would issue a full refund and some additional amounts for my trouble but never did. Several months have past. I went back to the seller this week to inquire about the refund, and that person is now refusing to refund the money. Is there anything that I can do about this?

Mentor1 year agoGo to your Purchase History and locate the purchased item. What is the last estimated delivery date? You have up to 30 days past that date in order to file an Item Not Received case, to get your money back. Once you file, the seller has 3 days to provide a tracking number that shows Delivered or issue a full refund. If the seller does neither, on day 4 you return to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force a refund.
If it is past the 30 day limit, you will need to log into Paypal and file an Item Not Received case there, if that is how you paid, as they allow up to 180 days from date of purchase to file, to get your money back.
If you paid with a credit card, file a charge back with your credit card issuer.

OP1 year agoThanks. But I think the seller is feeling emboldened by the fact that I'm just over the 180 day mark as of 6/6/25. I trusted that he would refund because of how genuine he sounded when he made the promise. When I was finally able to verify, I realized it was not done, but now I am a bit late. That's the issue here.
