How to not sell to buyers with third-party reshipping address? USPS will NOT provide tracking
Ok, so both my daughter and I have had an issue with delivery via USPS to third-party reshipping addresses. One was to a Delaware address. That one tracking only showed the date the item was picked up by USPS in Florida and then over a month later the date it was delivered in Delaware. The second one is ongoing. I shipped the item out from Palm Harbor, FL to a third-party reshipping address in Miami, FL on April 11, 2025. As of today, May 7, 2025, tracking shows it arriving in Miami, FL (but not at the delivery address in Miami) on April 12, 2025, and then the last tracking information on April 17, 2025, states "Moving Through Network In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late." So, no tracking information for 20 days. Needless to say, the Buyer is not happy and wants to know when the item will arrive. I got the same response from USPS both times when I asked for updates online: "The address provided is the location of a third-party reshipper. Items addressed to a third-party reshipper are not eligible for further inquiry.,," Now, this is for an address in the United States!!! When I called about the Delaware one, I could not get a person and was told the same thing by their automated response! This is unacceptable. Is eBay doing anything to address this problem? Can we block third-party reshipping addresses? Is there a way to prevent buyers with third-party reshipping addresses from using USPS (make UPS their only option)? I am ready to post contractual language on my listings stating that I have the right to cancel any orders going to third-party reshipping addresses unless the buyers use UPS. How are Sellers dealing with this? I do NOT have a problem with items going to regular addresses when using USPS. It seems like they are deliberately targeting items going to third-party reshippers!
