How to make 1 item no returns & not sold outside USA continental states?
Hi- I'm trying to list a large glass lamp that I don't want to send outside the USA states & also not allow returns (unless the 'no fault' reasons). Can't get the *#*% Bot to tell/direct/understand anything I write either. Will someone direct me to a page or 2 to reference on Ebay so I can learn this process?
Appreciate any help,
Eli

Mentor1 year ago@imagin-7247 Are you using Business Policies or do you set up your shipping and return preferences on each listing? How you set up the listing will depend on which method you are using to list.
Let me know which method you are listing with so that I don't have to give you too much information.
Just an FYI since you are using the eBay International Shipping Program for international shipping you are only responsible for the lamp arriving safely to the US Hub. After it reaches the hub eBay handles refunds for ALL requests and you keep the sale $.
As @rfmtm mentioned Local Pick Up only would also be a good option. I also agree that if you DO offer shipping that you should block block Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the other Protectorates.

OP1 year agoThanks for your time & help. I am going to go the 'leave it open to all' route for reasons you wrote. It makes sense since sellers do have the protection. What was throwing me off when listing the lamp was that when I would be on the screen to change the usual shipping I have, the instructions read like 'this will change all your 400something listings'. That prompted me to read in 'shipping' - but couldn't find specifics/definitions on how to make that 'no returns' for just that item. - then I went to 'chat = Bot'...yeah... then came here. Bottom line is 'just do it!' ha
Appreciate you,
Eli

Mentor1 year ago@imagin-7247 Depending on the size of the package it may be blocked from EIS international Shipping anyway.
I do strongly recommend blocking Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the other Protectorates. You would need to create a business shipping policy that excludes these locations and use it on your listing.
Go to your Business Policies page and select create policy on the upper right. https://www.ebay.com/bp/ship/create
OR OPT OUT if you prefer to create shipping and return policies on a PER LISTING level.
Next select your shipping method. I recommend NOT using UPS Ground Saver as or Fed Ex as the package will be in the shipping stream longer also both are know for adding surcharges and billing you later.
I would use regular UPS Ground if the package is too large or heavy for USPS ground Advantage.

Mentor1 year agoFirst consider selling this type of item for Local Pickup Only.
If you do want to ship make sure you only include domestic shipping options on the listing and no international ones, and block Ak, Hi, and protectorates in your shipping preferences.

OP1 year agoThanks much for your response & help... I did think, very fast, about the local pickup but I'm in a very rural area with not much exposure. What I am likely going to do is leave it open to overseas too since sellers do have the protection. If it happens that it sells that far way, I will make a 1 of a kind box. I do have some policies set up for shipping thru' Ebay. One thing I will keep working on tho' is learning the 'no returns'. I don't want to use it often & basically it really doesn't have much effect because of the 'work arounds'. But I get why the return policy is in place. I am grateful for your time.
