-Check their Feedback history, it might reveal important information posted from other customers.
-There is no "scam checker" program out there to determine if an eBay listing is legit or not. If it sounds to good to be true then it just may be.
-Message the seller and ask specific questions about the item and see if and how they respond. If they don't respond find a different Seller.
-While the vast majority of transactions go off on eBay without a hitch there are scammers active on the venue.
