How To Handle Mail-in Repair Services As A Seller
Hi Everyone.
I am at wits end with eBay. I offer an 8 track music tape mail-in repair service that does very good business. I've had buyers mistakenly place an order thinking that I was selling "8 track repair kits" to mail to them which I don't and nowhere in the listing are repair kits mentioned. When the orders were cancelled eBay made the two orders into defects as "Out Of Stock" and I have contacted them several times to remove the defects and was told they cannot reverse them even after I explained the situation. My problem is that I am currently a Top Rated Seller and these dings are affecting my performance and I do not want to drop down to Standard.
Has anyone been confronted with the unfair situation?
Thanks for any help you can give me.....
Charlie.

OP2 years agoQuick update...I reached out to the eBay for Business podcast group and found out a couple of issues. First, since I am offering a repair service the listing should be under the Specialty Services category otherwise eBay picks up the items as something for sale and in your inventory. Second, my primary phot shows what looks like a kit for repairs....I'll take that photo down and show a "Before and After" photo.

Mentor2 years agoCan you give us a link to your listing for the restoration service? I tried to find it, but all I see are listings for restored 8 track tapes.
