How to handle a sale discount and an offer discount
Good morning,
eBay shows several items "eligible to send offers". I have a current sale @ 15%. If I send an offer, for example, of 20% off an item, and it is already discounted by 15% through the sale, does the buyer get to apply both discounts? If so, when I am completing the offer page, what steps do I take to ensure that both discounts do not apply? Thank you in advance for your help. It is truly appreciated. Linda Powell-Cariker

OP1 week agoThank you both so much for responding. I saw your comments in my email but failed to get back over here to say thank you to guys. I apologize for that.
I do want to let you know that apparently they can take both discounts. My current sale is 15% off. Since eBay keeps encouraging me to send offers, and they were not supposed to be able to take both discounts, I sent a few offers this morning. Several for higher priced items were sent with an offer of 25% off.
One of the items sold today and eBay allowed the buyer to take a 40% discount. I am going to try to reach out to eBay tomorrow and see if there is a resolution that does not harm me.
Of course, it's not the buyer's fault and the package will ship tomorrow morning. But now I have other offers out there where a sale can potentially harm me financially.
Gotta love eBay. Someday maybe I will have all of this figured out. Anyway, thank you both for giving me feedback. I really do appreciate it.

No a buyer cannot get both a reduced price and an offer price added together. If someone tries to make an offer on a discounted item you can decline or ignore it until it expieres after 24 hours. Since I do not see a Best Offer option on any of your listings you do not have to worry about that happening.
