You might not get very far with customer service. Unfortunately, their script probably won't address whatever technical issue you have. They could tell you they'll start a ticket, just to get you off the phone. It might be useful to approach it an additional way, by also posting your issue on this board: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Report-eBay-Technical-Issues/bd-p/technicalissues-db
You're discouraged about something. I think you shouldn't give up. Maybe we can help, if you specify what's troubling you. I have more than 1500 purchases, and I'm one of the lightweights. Every responder on this board is eager to help you.
Heard back from a dedicated eBay agent. Confirmed - You can not send a video thru the message portal on Ebay!
What's bothering me: The item I purchased poorly functions. It is a precision instrument and should function better. I have a similar older item and it functions better in comparison. The "newer" item is poorly designed, has intolerable vibration, and is very loud. I don't think I can solve this issue (outside my return window) and I believe I will be stuck with this bad purchase.
Thanks for making me laugh with "Blame it on the Bossa Nova!" ...and for remembering Eydie Gorme 🙂
Finally navigated the ebay multiverse and contacted seller sending them documentation (pictures, videos and even decibel readings) of my issues with the product. Here is the short version of what transpired. The seller said keep the product and they were going to send me a replacement item - yay! They sent copy of shipping form but my phone number was incorrect. I tried to send correct phone number via ebay message portal and it wouldn't let me. Contacted ebay by phone and they said they would email my correct number to seller. When I was on the precipice of getting a replacement item from seller, seller abruptly shut down all communication - crickets! After contemplation, it's odd that seller disappeared about the same time they got a communication from ebay.
Later, I reluctantly got ebay involved with trying to get a refund and they told me to contact the seller (which I have been in contact for weeks). In the final message from ebay, ebay said you missed your 30-day window for return and 60-day window to give feedback. Try to contact the seller (remember, seller promised to send a replacement item after the 30-day window). This was medical product and the full appreciation of its disfunctionality was not revealed until using it a few times. My assumption initially was that it was me and not the product. Ebay kept sending me emails saying that they were here to assist me but in actuality they didn't step in to help me.
Long ago, I remember receiving a medical product that was completely different than what was pictured in the listing. I complained to the seller and they said that I should be happy because product sent was better - it was not. I specifically wanted what was pictured. I reluctantly gave negative feedback - ebay changed my feedback on seller eventhough it was classic example of "bait and switch". I called to complain about their practice of changing feedback but it was to no avail.
After reflecting on this past interaction and the present, my impression is that ebay gives preferential treatment to the seller over the buyer. I have been on ebay for 23 years as of yesterday with 100% positive feedback but at the end of the day it matters little. I want to thank all of you in the community who assisted me with this issue - many excellent suggestions and perspectives. It is time for me to leave ebay. I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving 🙂
Actually eBay generally sides with the buyer, about 99% of the time . . . UNLESS it’s outside the window of time that eBay cites for their windows. Those time frames are absolutely rigid and never bent.
I cringed when I saw the words medical product in your last posts. Most medical devices are prohibited from being sold on eBay, but some sellers manage to slip under the radar.
The eBay system is not setup to deal with replacement items, only refunds. There are a few sellers - not that many, fortunately - that know how to game the system and string buyers along with false promises of replacements or refunds until the time window runs out, then ghost the buyer. They know that eBay will absolutely not bend on time frames. They’re like the football team that is leading by one point with less than a minute to go; they just want to run the clock out because they know when the time is over, it’s over.

Sale of medical devices is a actually a common practice on ebay. Just type in the phrase "medical device" or "surgical instrument" and see what shows up on your search - and this is just scratching the surface.

On a lighter note, her recording of Blame It on the Bossa Nova is what made me a lifelong Eydie Gormé fan.
