How to get credit for costs of shipping labels when they aren’t used
Hi! I mailed my orders at the post office and paid postage. When I entered tracking numbers, I see an additional message that I created a shipping label. I do not want to buy a label from eBay. How do I fix this? Thank you.

Mentor2 weeks ago · Edited@rchickenladyandcompany Is this question about the two most recent sales? If YES It doesn't appear that you are enrolled in Ship With eBay
as it would say Standard Tracked Shipping on the listing.
If you did purchase an eBay shipping label then you need to cancel it to get a refund>
You can void/ cancel the label within 28 days of purchasing it from the actions drop down menu next to the label on this page>
https://www.ebay.com/ship/labels/seller-hub
Then the postal service will refund you in about 3-4 weeks on your all transactions page here>
https://www.ebay.com/mes/transactionlist?sh=true
Note, eBay Standard Envelope shipping labels can not be canceled
Then you have to MANUALLY enter the tracking for the shipping label that you purchased at the post office by clicking EDIT next to the existing tracking number on this page> https://www.ebay.com/sh/ord/?filter=status:ALL_ORDERS
Did you know that eBay shipping labels cost less than at the post office? You also have additional seller protections when you use an eBay shipping label.
Selling fees are based on the total the buyer paid including shipping and sales tax so buying the label at the post office doesn't change your seller fees.
By not using the eBay Shipping label you will also have your funds held longer because of the invalid tracking being the primary number.
If you don't have a printer just select the QR code option and the post office prints the labels for you.

OP2 weeks agoThank you. Not exactly a new seller, but I just started with a store. Technology is not my thing, so your help is extra appreciated. I’ve been waiting over an hour now for a ‘phone call in 20 minutes’. Frustrating. But I’ll see what I can do with your advice. It seems there’s a new shipping program that new sellers are automatically enrolled in.

Mentor2 weeks ago@rchickenladyandcompany Did you try canceling the labels?
Let me know if that works or not.
Then I can tell you your next steps.

OP2 weeks agoApparently the call was filtered and didn’t get through. Calls are now unblocked, but I have to wait till tomorrow to try that route again. School is out.
Three orders mailed today show ‘labels created’. From seller hub, when I enter either order number or tracking number, transaction not found pops up.
Thank you for helping.

Mentor2 weeks ago@rchickenladyandcompany Please answer this question then I can tell you if you will be able to get a refund on the labels.

If you can NOT cancel the labels then I can tell you how buying offsite labels works when you are in the Ship With eBay Program. You can cancel regular shipping labels.
I don't want to overload you with a lot of information you don't need.
I probably know more about the site than an agent, especially since Ship with eBay is a new program. ( IF you are enrolled)

OP2 weeks agoGood morning. Thanks again for your help. Quiet time, I can try again.
When I look at the orders for the last three sales, all the same day, I see shipping label created. While trying to find a new angle, I hit create new label, hoping to go to a more useful page, and got a message new label created.
However, when I look at the breakdown and fees, only the 15% or whatever seems to be deducted. Not the cost of shipping.
When I go to shipping labels and enter either order number or tracking number, it messages item not found. Is it possible that I did not pay for labels when it clearly says labels created?
I read through the information that you shared, and saw where if a refund is issued, it goes back to the buyer, not the seller. That would be doubly bad.
Thank you for your time and help.

Mentor2 weeks ago@rchickenladyandcompany IF you can cancel the label the refund goes to YOU.
If you can't cancel the label you are in the Ship with eBay program. The prepaid labels can't be canceled and are refunded to the buyer.
THIS is why I asked if you can cancel the label.
I know it's confusing, I hope that makes sense.
