Click Edit in your Seller Hub Active items list next to the current tracking #. In most cases, you cannot remove the original number, but you can add the new one. This does not create a problem...further tracking will begin appearing on the new # once you get your acceptance scan.

OP4 months agoThanks. I actually called eBay and found out if you use the eBay app you can't correct a wrong tracking number. But if you use a laptop/tablet instead of the app on your phone, there is a way to manually type in a correct tracking number.
You go into my eBay, click on selling, then click orders, then at the top, click shipped.
Underneath that is a list of the items you've shipped. You go down to the item that you want to correct the tracking number. Don't click on the item, but instead, there will be three lines on the far right. When you click on that drop down box, there will be a choice to edit tracking number. When you click that, you can edit the number manually.
That option just isn't there on the phone app.

Yes, there are a few ways to get to the tracking # to add the correct one. I gave you a faster method of adding the new tracking # than you received from CS. As I mentioned, in most cases, you cannot remove the tracking # so you just add the new one. In cases where the tracking number can be changed, of course you would do that.
You didn't mention you were using a phone. It's helpful if that is mentioned in your question since not all functions work the same as they do on a computer.
