how to do a refund buyer, item damaged new in sealed box. don't want it back just want send refund

I shipped a sealed in box item new unused.....but something was wrong with it. I don't want it back, i am simply trying to do a refund and cannot find out how....onlne agent just keeps saying file a request for return......damnit, can't they make anything simple on ebay? I just want to send buyer her money back, how?

I found it......wish they would make this easier for folks that are not that computer savy. yes I have been on ebay for over 10 years, with many changes....paypal refunds were easier, quite a few changes in all the years. I mostly know how to list, and pictures, and such from repetition not brains.

Use the Refund option in the drop down menu next to the item.
