At minimum the above search list items with the word ball, ignoring yellow.

If you are looking for M&M gold balls, try this search:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=%22M%26M%22+gold+balls&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_sop=10
Although the & character is not searchable, by putting the M&M in quotes, you force eBay to return listings that contain an M followed immediately by punctuation marks or spaces and then another M with no other letters in between.
If you just search for M & M and another keyword that can find any listings that have an M and that other keyword in the title or item-specifics.

The following search seems to work for me to find listings that contain the keywords M&M and yellow and at least one of soccer, ball, or egg:
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=M%26M+yellow+%28soccer%2Cball%2Cegg%29&_sacat=0&_sop=10
If you are having problems, avoid using "Best match" sort order, as that sort often finds additional, less relevant results, though it seems to work in this case.
