How to correct a shippeing label error when the package is already sent?

Hello. Yesterday my father and I packed an item to sell. It went out this morning. My dad sent me the tracking number. I tried to put it in but it kept putting in an error message. I discovered the buyer prepaid for a label. Unsure of what to do, I clicked on "get prepaid label" and now it won't let me add the other tracking number. I cannot use this prepaid label since the package already went out and eBay won't let me cancel it. This item needs to be shipped tonight. Please help!

Mentor2 weeks ago@fusionrecyclingplant I want to clarify... My fellow Mentor's advice is excellent if the labels were regular shipping labels not prepaid labels.
When a sellers listing says Standard Tracked Shipping or they mention a prepaid label that means they are enrolled in the new Ship with eBay program.
Ship with eBay is a new program that we Mentors are just learning about.
Since the listing is used Ship with eBay prepaid labels you will NOT be able to add an tracking number that you purchased outside of eBay.
The label also can NOT be voided. Since this listing had buyer pays shipping the buyer will be refunded for the cost of the shipping label since it is not being used.
I see that this sold listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/398341675245 has Standard Tracked Shipping.
Shipping labels are automatically issued based on the package weight and dimensions you provide in the listing so EVEN when offering Free to the buyer shipping it is VERY important to include this information.
A tip if you do NOT want to use Ship with eBay at this time. OPT in to Seller Hub>

The Ship With eBay program does have additional Seller Protections and shipping costs less on eBay than at the post office.

Mentor2 weeks agoSo did you also purchase a label on ebay that you did not use? If so you need to cancel that one and add the new tracking number. Do that here:

OP2 weeks agoI didn't purchase it. The buyer prepaid for it. It keeps telling me it can't be cancelled.

Mentor2 weeks agoYou post contradicts itself. First you say it went out in the morning, then you say you can't print as label, and then you say it needs to go out tonight. ???
Did it or did it not ship?
Did you create a label on ebay or not?
Did you buy another label at the post office?
Need clarification of exactly what happened to help you.

OP2 weeks agoIt shipped. The system has the wrong tracking number. I need to put in the correct tracking number that my dad gave me. The system won't let me do that.

Mentor2 weeks agoYou can click on EDIT and add the tracking number your Dad gave you, but you also need to Void/cancel the label from ebay that was not used.

Go to
Seller Hub > Orders > Shipping labels
Locate the Order. Click the 3 dots. Select VOID label. You have 28 days from the date you printed the label in order to void the label. The USPS will credit your account in 2-3 weeks after they have confirmed the label was never used.
