How to change shipping if value over 20 dollars
I sell trading cards and currently trying to submit my first Variation listing with multiple cards under one listing. I have the shipping option as eBay standard envelope option but there's a chance a buyer may purchase multiple cards and will either be too many cards for standard envelope or value over 20 dollars. If I used Standard eBay SE to list my items and I get into a situation where the value is over 20 dollars or more than 3-4 cards how can I change the option after the buyer pays for the eBay SE shipping price but then gets calculated for the USPS ground option meaning now I come out of pocket to pay for shipping. Is there a way eBay system detects that and ca charge the buyer the right shipping option before they pay? or is only option to send a new invoice with USPS ground pricing?

This is not something that a variations listing can handle. You can only set a single shipping price, although if you use a flat rate for shipping you can add a charge for each additional card. You cannot charge the buyer more than what you put in the listing.
The $20 limit is on a single card, so don’t put cards of $20 or more on the same listing with lower value items. The value can go up to $50 on combined shipments, but none of the cards can be more than $20.
