How to cancel a suspicious buyer order?
I specified in the listing that I wouldn’t accept zero feedback buyers, but one of them bid and won the auction. It’s for quite a lot of money so I think this is a scammer. How can I cancel the sale? Use the problem with the address reason? That didn’t seem quite right, so I wasn’t sure.

Mentor3 years agoDo not send any invoices. The count for unpaid items starts over when you do that. After exactly 4 days, you can cancel due to buyer did not pay. This gives that 'buyer' a strike; 2 of those in a year keeps them from bidding/making offers.
If you cancel too many items, you can lose your selling privileges. Check your seller dashboard for this information. https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard
No one wants to get scammed. Selling high priced items is risky. I haven't been scammed and I'm not a business, but my items are not expensive. Yes, I have had some returns and the money has come out of my pocket. Buyers have more protections than sellers unfortunately.

Mentor3 years agoThere is no rule that 0 feedback buyers cannot purchase items. We all started out at 0. You really can't list that in your terms because it literally means nothing. If they pay, you ship.

OP3 years agoI just can’t afford to get scammed. I’m selling stuff because I need the money, not as a business that can afford losses. So many people get scammed these days. Every friend I have who used to sell on eBay a lot has been scammed and stopped selling. eBay does nothing to protect a seller, it seems. I don’t know a way to sell an odd collection of vintage camera equipment besides eBay but I would rather keep it and find another way than have it stolen.

·3 years agoYou would have to cancel as out of stock and receive a defect and possible negative feedback.

OP3 years agoIt’s been a couple of days and the buyer has not paid. What happens if they don’t pay? Is there a set amount of time when eBay cancels the sale?

·3 years agoAfter 4days you can cancel the sale due to nonpayment and relist. EBay doesn't do the cancel.
