how to bid on items using a gift card with no prepay option to list it
when wanting to bid on an item it is now neccesary to declare a payment method yet using an ebay gift card is not an option. Not wanting to have to list my credit/ debit card is blocking me from bidding . I can still do a "buy it now" in the traditional checkout. But this limits my ability to possibly get a better price thru an auction. Does anyone else have problem with this enhanced system of declaring payment method? I use gift cards because I dont want my bank information constantly being put " out there" as it's only a matter of time before someone figures out a way to compromise programming on this.

Mentor8 months agoIf the seller requires a payment method specified in advance to bid, you may need to provide one such as a credit or debit card that can support a reversible payment hold. Gift cards are not suitable for this.
