How should I handle this request?
Buyer bought a dress that was in perfect condition -- I literally wore it ONCE. No tears, rips, etc. Nothing. She requested a refund saying the bow (attached to the neck on the dress) is ripped. She sent a fuzzy picture that shows nothing, except a hand holding a ribbon. I requested additional photos. I asked if the package was damaged and she said she didn't know "because her husband opened it." My policy is no returns as I only tend to sell near perfect clothing items. I want to give the buyer the benefit of the doubt, but this seems shady. In the meantime, how do I handle the return? Full refund if she sends it back?

Mentor2 years agoIf she opens a return for an item not as described, you need to accept the return and refund or refund without having the buyer send the item back. If you don't, eBay will refund the buyer out of your account and award you with a defect on your metrics.

OP2 years agoThanks. She sent the dress back and I refunded the entire amount, even though you could clearly see the damage was made by a scissors -- probably when she opened it. Shady buyer.

Mentor2 years agoYou can use the Report buyer option in the dropdown next to the order transaction to get this on the buyer's record.
