How not to develop a new system of customer service and control that will provide neither.
Your master programmer has done a marvelous job of walling out any practical system to critique your new ordering system. One quarter hour trying to find a place to complain about the weirdest, phony feel good system of presenting and ordering products. Finally got here and I suspect I will run out of posting space at any moment because your system is designed to force the customer into various corrals of activity rather than let him request an item and then have its various offerings presented in linear form from which he can select.
I suspect you have spent millions on this redesign and it is costing you customers everyday. It's so heavy on phony, happy talk, that I'm getting sugar shock from reading all the inserts and headlines telling me how wonderful the new system is. The whole thing smacks of a bunch of political campaign hacks turned loose to pump your new system.
Your old system had some deficits but at least I could get on, type in a needed item and get the available offerings quickly. The offerings would be in a straight line where I could quickly peruse them and hopefully find the item for which I am looking.
I don't buy a lot from Ebay because my business is parttime. I suspect you have thousands of similar buyers--or I should say "you had thousands . . ." This system is a perfect example of a committee product that failed to give the committee a tight, detailed read out of what was wanted and needed. I predict your loss in sales will cause a large number of second level execs to be missing in action within 12 months. They will be sacrificed to save the top level proponents responsible for this lunacy.. I will probably watch this 3-legged animal die, satisfying the same morbid curiosity and disbelief I feel when watching a train wreck. j. Forsyth
