How much time do I need to give a seller before reporting them?
I had the winning bid on a phone last Wednesday. I entered my payment info and a few minutes later got a confirmation that a label had been created and the USPS was notified and got a tracking number. On Friday I noticed that the USPS couldn't give me an estimated delivery date because the package hadn't been received yet. I contacted the seller to ask when they would ship the package, but didn't get a response. I sent another message on Saturday and still no response.
Then I checked the seller information: seller started their account March 2024, no reviews and now only 1 sale (I assume my sale is the only one). They had a couple of auctions active the same day that I made my purchase, but now have no other sales and no other items listed for sale.
It seems like a lot of red flags. How long should I wait before reporting suspected fraud?
Thanks in advance

·2 years agoIf you don't get a package from the seller by the time the estimated delivery date you were given when you paid has fully passed, go to your Purchase History for that item, click the link for more options and select that you haven't received the item, then follow instructions from there. If you haven't gotten the item as described or a full refund after 3 days (but before 21 days) from doing so go back and you should find a link to "Ask eBay to step in" to get your refund.

OP2 years agoThanks for the extra info, I've never had a problem with buying on ebay before. I don't want to jump the gun, and I want to give the seller a reasonable chance to deliver the item before filing any kind of negative response, but when the USPS web site says they haven't received the package 5 days after I made payment, I'm getting concerned.

After that date you may ask eBay to step in.
