How many have had problems with Amazon home delivery losing packages or delivering to wrong address?
When a package is lost or stolen, everyone loses but the thief or delivery service. I've read lots of online reviews about packages being delivered to wrong addresses. I just had that experience and finally got a refund through eBay. I hope the seller, if they copied my address correctly, didn't lose on that exchange. A bigger problem now in my local community is Amazon drivers dropping packages off at our local post office after hours, unsecured and unattended, in the publicly accessed lobby. It's not the sellers fault, it's not my fault, but both lose out - my money and another chip away at the seller's reputation. I know I won't buy again from the seller just because I can't trust Amazon to deliver it safely. I've even considered approaching my state's AG consumer protection division to look into Amazon's delivery practices (multiply my loss by a couple of hundred million users in a year, and there's a monumental loss. And, in my local case, I am not the only one to lose Amazon deliveries due to their sloppy deliveries.
FYI: Our local post office box holders have the option of using the post office's physical address for sellers who will not ship to PO boxes. It's a cooperative effort by the USPS, UPS, Fedex and other couriers to ensure package safety for PO box holders. This system has worked well until Amazon recently began their own deliveries to our rural area. Our postmistress says she has repeatedly asked the drivers not drop off packages except during business hours, but thet obviously continue.
