How long does authentication take?

I just sold my first sportscard that is going to be authenticated before my payment is made available. The tracking shows the card was picked up from the post office yesterday but it's still saying the card has not yet been authenticated. How long does it usually take to get the card authenticated?

While the eBay Help page below states that the inspection is generally 2 days we know it can be longer. 7 days is not out of the question depending on the category and associated backlogs.
