how is this even legal for Ebay to do to a seller
I will try to keep this as concise and to the point as possible. I sold a large lot of valuable trading cards, it went all the way up to over $1,600 total. Total. And the very first paragraph of the details and description of this lot. It's specifically says that these cards are not in near mint condition and have several even being closer to damaged condition overall.
This was a blind lot meaning I didn't know 100% what was in this by any means, only that it had many older vintage valuable cards throughout it from the picture I had taken, and the handful that I had looked up myself. There were thousands of cards total in this Collection.
After the buyer had received the cards and literally gone through them all too, from what he even ended up stating, He demanded a return now!?? His reasoning was that he stated because there were just a couple of them that were not in the greatest condition, he wanted to return them all! He literally posted three pictures of 3 individual cards showing that they had some wear on them, like I had STATED IN LINE 1 AND 2 OF DESCRIPTION, and because of this he wanted to return the entire collection.
I offered to return $300 at first to him as a partial return, (which is more than fair) with No questions asked just for this bit of discrepancy from him not even reading the description apparently ....(As again, it stated clear as day that these cards were NOT in good condition and some were even damaged. But for some reason, the 3 cards out of 3,000 enabled him to make a return claim, that they were not as described).
Regardless ..... I tried to offer a return of $300 and they keep all the cards.. They declined
....
I then offered to send him a completely separate box with over 2,000+ valuable and many rare cards in it, completely free of charge. He doesn't have to pay a dime if he would just rather hopefully take that extra lot now too. Well the buyer didn't even respond what so over to that email or the many pictures that I sent of it all. then instead of course he just put in a return claim.
*** However, this buyer did state to me that it was only fair that he, I repeat HE THE BUYER, would pay for the return postage, in sending these back to me. So i said okay..... and was expecting these cards all back as a return. As these all easily were worth at minimum over $1000+ and had many many bids on them too initially (before this borderline scammer of a buyer beat them all out last minute).
Well now about 6 days go by and I haven't heard anything or seen any return tracking number. but then suddenly just earlier today, eBay Stated in an email to me, that this return is closed and they've already refunded the buyer the $1,600, and yet I have no cards whatsoever...... They are not in the mail even either!.....They (the buyer) never even attempted to return these to me, even after THEY I repeat again: they, they, they = stated they would pay for the return shipping of them all back to me!!!
Yet they failed to do so at any point, and never shipped anything back out to me, and even Ebay knows this and can see no tracking number anywhere?!
Yet now they have these cards still in their possession as well as their $1,600 back too!! Basically what almost appears to me to be a fraudulent endeavor, which was so blatantly allowed to take place?!! I spent very hard earned money on this collection not even that long ago, and it cost me very close to a grand as it was. Yet now I'm just supposed to eat that $1,000 bucks, plus I miss out on the potential to hopefully resell these to gain any kind of my funds back on them too!?
How is this even possible and allowed or fair in any kind of reasonable way, how can they treat and essentially allow stealing like this occur from their own sellers bringing in the profits for them to even begin with, through their platform?!?
