How does one list digital photography with digital download on purchase?
The title says it all. I read on eBay that one must become a Registered Digital Seller?
I'm considering selling digital products on eBay again and have questions about becoming a eBay approved digital seller. My previous experience selling an eBook was challenging - I had numerous buyers who purchased, received the download, and then immediately requested refunds. This created a frustrating cycle of sales followed by returns. As I'm looking to generate reliable income, I'd like to understand if there are now better protections for digital sellers and what the current process entails for becoming a Registered Digital Seller. How can I avoid the same issues I experienced before?

eBay is missing a major revenue opportunity by not offering instant digital downloads like Amazon does.
Current issues:
- Sellers must manually email files after purchase
- Requires trust and creates delays
- Forces use of third-party services
- Limits what digital goods can be effectively sold
Amazon makes massive profits from digital content with instant delivery, secure downloads, and buyer/seller protection.
Benefits to eBay:
- New seller categories (software, e-books, digital art)
- Additional revenue streams
- Better customer satisfaction
- Reduced support issues
- Competitive advantage against Etsy (which already has this)
This seems like a straightforward extension of existing infrastructure that would yield significant returns.
Has eBay ever addressed why they don't offer this feature when competitors do?

Mentor1 year agoI've never heard of Registered Digital Seller. The last I knew, those types of sellers could list their items in the EVERYTHING ELSE category.
