The reply by the Gnome is partially true, but then ebay rarely takes action against buyers.
In this case however, you have a new seller, who probably does not know how to check a bidder's history, or how to block them and cancel their bids.
If you are wondering if the seller is using a shill to run up the price, despite the number of items bid on, only 10% of their bids were placed on the seller's auctions in the last 30 days. It amazes me sometimes that high feedback buyers, still bid like newbies on auctions.
You should be waiting until close to the end of an auction, to place 1 automatic bid for the most you are willing to pay for an item, instead of getting into bidding wars when there are 6 days left in an auction. If you do not understand how automatic bidding works, open the link below. Read very thing in it, and click on the tips for winning auctions, then click on the link for Bid sniping.

·2 years agoeBay seems to have given up on enforcing the rule against lying to retract bids around 2015. I've seen some with hundreds of retractions in the past 12 months since then.
