2. Click Automated chat on the left hand side of the screen. ( Trust me)
3. Type AGENT in the small box on the lower right of the linked page then you will see the options to contact a live agent, you may have to answer the chat bots questions before it allows you to connect to an agent, this is so you are connected to the correct department. If the bot asks another question after you answered type AGENT again. Then you will see the option to request a call back or live chat.
If you are located outside of US or Canada then you will need to use the Chat option or Social Media
4. Or you can also contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. You leave a message and an eBay employee will get back to you as soon as possible. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem.
it didn't work it constantly wants to know what the problem is, then it will not let me type agent again. the problem I have is that an item I sold was received damaged, I refunded the person but it is glass and you can clearly see the item was broken so I refunded the person and now I want to know since its insured, will I get my money back or what.
@4415r I am not sure why it didn't work. However contacting customer service for this will not help you.
You need pictures of the item, the box and the packing material used to ship. Then you use those photos to file your postal insurance claim. What shipping company did you use?
I have used this screen shot from order details to show the value of the item and proof of sale. I do not show the "what you earned" section after eBay substracted fees.
I have crossed out private information in my example but you need to show all of that to the post office.
The postal carrier may also want to see the actual price you paid for the shipping label you can take a screen snip from this page>
