How do you get an actual person from Ebay?

    Hello,

I had an item that did not arrive, I have photos to prove that the item delivered under my order number was NOT my item and the house is not my house. On top of this, I contacted the seller who admitted in the ebay chat that he/she discovered a logistics error and they would send my item out right away with fast delivery... I also have this chat screen as support to my proof... The seller has pulled this exact same thing on 12 other people in the last years (they are the ONLY negative reports on them so at a glance you wouldn't read 95% rating) I make the 13th person they have pulled this same scam on. I can't imagine it being worth it, but they refuse to respond and EBAY has sided with them over tracking being given. When I did get to contact them via phone last Friday, the gal I talked to looked up the tracking from FedEx and the photo proof of delivery and said it was delivered. At this point I suggested that she look at my item, then at the proof of delivery once again. Then she realized that a fish tank can't fit inside a 2ft x 2ft x 2 INCH box, at which time I text her the front porch of my home. As I already had a complaint filed her supervisor advised that I wait until today for the system to grant my request. IT SIDED WITH THE SELLER.. .and now it (the automated system) will not allow me to speak to a human and when I call the number it hangs up on me rather than transfer me. SO... how does one speak with a real live human - you know - with eyes to see 3 photos - and a brain rather than poorly coded reflux response. I can say with 100% assurance that this is the worst customer service I have ever gotten from Ebay since 1997... they obviously no longer bother with their customer base because their protection for the buyer is a straight up lie and you couldn't reach a human to save your life.

@jalisar63  Sorry you are going through this.   You might need a note from Fed Ex stating that the package was shipped to the address on the label but it was NOT delivered to your address.

The best place to contact eBay is on social media as the agents are more experienced.

    Or if you prefer>>
Here's how to contact eBay customer service:

eBay agents are working from home so you have to request a call back or live chat.

    1. CLICK THIS LINK:
    https://www.ebay.com/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

    2. Request a call back

    3. Or you can also contact customer service by sending a PRIVATE message on social media. Customer service verifies your identity before responding.

    @jalisar63

If tracking shows delivery but you do not receive anything, check with the shipping service to determine if the tracking number corresponds to a delivery to your address.

If not, you may be the victim of a false tracking scam or the seller may have given you the wrong tracking number by mistake. Either way, see here for some good instructions about what you can do about it:

    https://community.ebay.com/t5/Shipping/What-do-you-do-when-ebay-support-will-not-help-you/m-p/340803...

What kind of feedback for selling does your seller have? You can avoid many issues by choosing to only do business with sellers that have a proven track record of delivering what was sold and that have sold similar sorts of items before. Avoid new or unproven sellers, sellers with a pattern of serious negative feedback, or sellers that have drastically changed behavior or that have unexplained gaps in selling feedback.

If your seller is a drop-shipper, the seller may have been the victim of the company doing the drop-shipping and providing the tracking number.

    Thanks

The seller is aware of what they did. They told me it was a logistics error via chat in Ebay... which I sent a screen shot of with the appeal... I also sent pics of what I orders and 13inch square package and the tracking proof of what was delivered to someone else here in town... it was a 2 foot x 2 foot x 2 inch box... and not my front porch, Ebay apparently doesn't look at these things. I also had a copy of the statement given by my FedEx driver, being disabled and dealing with live tropical fish, I have gotten to know the FedEx driver from out of the Rolla, MO. region pretty well. Ebay didn't seem to care to read that either. They said that the seller was not at fault, that it was the fault of the buyer. I have spoke over the phone to 2 people, and in chat to a 3rd... all 3 agreed with me instantly however they are unable to change the ruling made by Ebay. You can only appeal once... so now I have been waiting for the corporate level support to contact me. lol.

This is a long running problem with eBay's system and one that I have been saving examples of to share our community team leaders.    I am adding your experience to my list.

Your only option now is to contact your bank or credit card about a chargeback.  You shouldn't have any trouble with the chargeback since you do have good proof that it was NOT your item that was dropped at someone else's house since the packages are totally different sizes.
