How do we contest the Late Shipment Rating
Hi All! I have been hit with 2 late shipment ratings, both caused by the shipping. In one case they missed a scheduled pickup and I had to reschedule the next day. The other was because the item wasn't scanned until it arrived at the destination post office. I dropped this package off at the post office in their postal slot. And now another package that I dropped off 2 days ago that still has not scanned. It's not right that my Late shipment rating is being impacted because of the shipper.

Mentor8 months agoIt is unlikely that eBay will take them off your account.
In the first one, you were late shipping it if the Pick Up was not successful.
And the second one is a postal error but one you could have avoided by getting a scan when you dropped it off.
I understand (and agree) that these are post office errors and they are partially to blame, but I know that eBay still considers it a seller error/problem.
In the past, eBay has told me that they give us a little "cushion" in the late shipment metrics to account for this type of issue.
I know it is aggravating to have to look at it but if it is not affecting your account, you just need to be careful about not getting anymore.
(In no way do I agree with what eBay does, but I also understand that they need to draw a line in the sand because some sellers would have late shipments and blame others. eBay can't determine the truth. You might consider changing your handling time to 2-3 days in order to give yourself some leeway if the Post Office makes these errors in the future.)

OP8 months agoThank you so much for your reply! I figured as much but thought I would post the question just in case. I really don't want to lengthen my shipping time because of the potential to lose buyers for shipping duration and I already have 2 day shipping window policy. I guess I'm going to have to stand in line at the post office. Thanks again!
