How do I set up return shipping?
Summary: nwp944 is dealing with a situation where a buyer in Sweden claims that car parts arrived damaged and is requesting a refund. They are seeking advice on how to facilitate a return with a prepaid shipping label but find it challenging since the parts were shipped via USPS outside of eBay. mudshark61369 suggests verifying if a formal dispute has been filed on eBay and highlights the improbability of the situation, also advising to arrange payment for return shipping via PayPal. disneyshopper confirms that the buyer should file an 'Item Not as Described' request and suggests a similar process for handling the return shipment costs.
I sold some car parts to a buyer in SWEDEN - (Im in the USA) , he is claiming it arrived damaged and wants a full refund .
I belive it is fradulent , but i am willing to redund the money and get my parts back. I have spent many hours trying to figure out how to get him a pre-paid shipping lable so I can get the parts back.
I do want the parts, and i am fine refunding the money.......I sent the box USPS...outside of EBAY ( i went into a post office and shipped it myself) My local post office said they cant issues a call tag for the box.
What is the best way to get the buyer a prepaid lable?
I tied to call the Ebay customer service number but really got no where with the person on the line.
Any help?
Thanks-
MM

Mentor3 weeks agoThe buyer needs to file a returns request for an Item Not as Described, you accept. However, ebay cannot issue a return label good in Sweden. You will need to find out how much it will cost the buyer to ship the item back to you. You then send that amount to the buyer's email address via Paypal so he can purchase a return shipping label. When you get the item back, you refund the buyer's payment.

Mentor3 weeks ago@nwp944 ,
It is very unfortunate that this happened to you on your first sale and I agree that this is probably a scam. Did they file a formal ebay dispute for a damaged item? If all they did was to message you then you do not have to agree. To find out if they did file a dispute, Go to your Seller hub, find the Orders/Tasks section and look for open returns. If one is not there you do not have to do anything.
Sellers, cannot buy return postage from foreign countries. The buyer will have to go to a Post office in Sweden and get a return shipping cost for an international service with door to door tracking. They tell you what the cost will be, Then you send them the funds for the return postage. However, you do not refund the buyer any of the money for the item itself until you receive the item back.
When you saw that the buyer was located in Sweden didn't it seem odd to you that they were buying parts for a car manufactured in their country, from a U.S. based seller? After all they would have to have paid customs fees possible tariffs as well as the international postage cost.
Also since the bidder had a (0) feedback rating it is odd that they were able to bid that much on such an expensive item, as new buyers have limits on how much they can spend at one time when starting out.
