@kn26_46,
This topic may take more help than we can provide, so I am tagging an ebay employee. They may be in PST timezone so it may take a few hours from EST before either can reply.

Hey @mudshark61369. First off my condolences for the loss. When it comes to reporting a death of an eBay member that can be done through our customer support channels and they can help walk you through the process.

@kn26_46,
Is the deceased person a buyer/seller, buyer only, or seller only on ebay?
Do you have their username and password for their account? If you have their username and password we can tell you how to close any active selling listings.
eBay will not close an account immediately unless the member seriously violates ebay's rules. They will keep an account open for up to 60 days after the last transaction has been completed, befire closing it.
I think your best bet at getting swift action will be to contact ebay through their social media sites. The phone reps are not trained for this and are not ebay employees. The Facebook and Twitter reps are ebay employees.
On the Facebook site use the Blue send message box. I would explain what has happened, your relation to the member, and ask what they will need as proof, most likely a death certificate. If you do not have a Power Of Attorney over the person's financial affairs. eBay and other companies may need to hear from the person who does.
