How do I refund buyer excess shipping cost?
Just sold an item for which only USPS was listed as an option and buyer paid a very high postage cost. I have since found out that I can ship it via UPS and save the buyer over $50. I contacted the buyer and he wants me to ship via UPS (or Fedex) and get a refund of the shipping cost difference. How can I do this? Do I have to cancel the sale so that he can rebuy same item with revised listing reflecting different shipper and different shipping cost? Or can I just ship item to him via UPS and then refund difference through ebay?

You can ship via UPS, and you can refund the buyer's over-payment using the option next to the sold order transaction.
