How do I know if my item was purchased?

I am new to selling items on eBay. A customer was interested in buying an item that I have for sale today around 5:00 PM. I was supposed to scan something in order to get paid but I ran into problems. eBay support walked me through getting an alternative way to receive the money. I have been on hold since about 5:30 PM today waiting for eBay to respond to whether the issue was resolved or not. It was now 9:56 PM. I have written the online eBay help that, but did not receive a response. What do I do?

It looks like the Buyer's account has been terminated, likely a scammer that eBay detected issues with their funding source. eBay writes better English then what you read in that message, that is often a tup off that the author of the message is not legit.

You do NOT have to scan anything for a Buyer to purchase your items. You have NOT sold anything. You wait for an item to Sell and it will appear on this list if it is a Buy it now item and purchased by a Buyer: Orders — eBay Seller Hub
If it an accepted Best offer by either party or an auction won by a Buyer but not paid for it will be on this list awaiting payment: Orders — eBay Seller Hub
You are a new Seller and a target for scammers. Never hesitate to come here and ask questions until you get a few sales under your belt.
