how do i get taxed reimbursed from ebay? the product was shipped from a freight forwarder in florida
Freight forwarder is a tax exempt business being that tax is paid on the product locally once it arrives. Shipping company provided bill of sale to send to ebay and claim a reimbursement of the tax originally paid.

Mentor6 months agoIF you are a seller shipping to a tax exempt freight forwarder in Florida for export then ebay should not be collecting or remitting any further sales tax from the buyer. If this is not the case come back with more details of what is happening.

OP6 months agoNo i am the buyer and live in central america. I use a freight forwarding company that is tax exempt and they sent me the air waybill to ask ebay to reimburse the tax collected on the item.

Mentor6 months ago@dgconstructor-7. eBay collects and remits sales tax to the state the item is delivered to as required by law. The fact that it is reshipped doesn't wave the sales tax requirement.
I recommend changing to a freight forwarding company in Delaware for future purchases as the state doesn't have any sales tax.

Mentor6 months agoIf your forwarder is tax exempt then ebay does not collect any sales tax and you should not have been charged.
Forwarders in Florida must have a Florida Certificate of Forwarding Agent Address (Form DR-14FAA) from the Florida Department of Revenue. This certificate allows the forwarder to receive goods from US vendors without paying Florida sales tax, provided the items are "irrevocably committed to export".
You need to confirm your forwarder actually has holds the above certificate, which they must provide ebay and wait for ebay to confirm it has been applied before receiving items you purchased.

OP6 months agoThey are tax exempt and I already submitted that file they requested. Purchase was made before i submitted that certificate so I am working backwards basically jajaja. Thanks for your help.

Mentor6 months agoIf you made purchases before the tax exempt status was confirmed and ebay collected and remitted the tax, as far as I know you will have to go to the State of Florida Revenue Department to now get them back since it was not ebay's error.

Mentor6 months agoIn addition to using a freight forwarder in Delaware, you can also consider freight forwarders in New Hampshire, Oregon, Montana, Alaska.
