How do I get shipping reimbursement built into ebay sale if I ship using my own UPS account?
I sold some 16mm camera equipment recently, packing all myself and shipping the delicate equipment via my own UPS account (rather than USPS). I provided eBay with the tracking number, and everything has been delivered...but I didn't do it through their automatic labeling and shipping protocol.

The shipping paid by the buyer is part of the payment to you. eBay will send you the payment after deducting their fees.
Given the price of the item, you should expect them to hold your payment for 30 days. You can check on the payment in your payment account - https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin. Click on the payment to see the amounts paid by the buyer, and the fees that eBay is deducting.

OP1 year agoOk, I think I understand. They will have received an established fee for shipping from the buyer....but once the buyer has confirmed receipt of the item (via my own UPS account), eBay will then include what the buyer paid in what comes to me (after, of course deducting eBay's usual percentage fee of the agreed purchase price.)
Thanks, was not really sure of the protocol in this instance.

I would not expect the payment to be released right after delivery - generally the hold is 30 days on items over $1,000.
Did you enter the tracking # into the sold order? You said you provided eBay with the # - you want to make sure you do that by adding it to the order.

OP1 year agoYes I did that after the items were received (had passed along the Tracking Info to the buyer via text message, and subsequently confirmed receipt)....later realized I should have conveyed the same info to eBay, even though I was paying directly thru my UPS account. (Am a new seller here, so didn't really punch into the appropriate protocol.)
