How do I get paid if the buyer wants to change from shipping to picking up the item

Question

Just sold an item and after the sale, the buyer asked if they could come and pick up the item as they were coming this way already. I agreed, but now I don't know how I will get paid if there is no tracking number for USPS, UPS, or FedEx to scan to show delivery.

I've tried to contact eBay, but I keep getting the AI Assistant when what I really need is a representative. Is there anyone who has gone through this and can help a neewbie like me?

This did not solve the problem at all! Nobody seems to understand that the buyer lived 2 hours south of me and was on her way north and would pass right by my town that afternoon. By foregoing the shipping, she saved me $12 , but by handing the item over to her and her husband at the local convenience store on her way to see the grandkids, eBay is holding my money indefinately!!! Even on their website, it says, "eBay will check messages and feedback to confirm receipt of item." While at the gas pump, she messaged me and said she had received the item. She also gave me a 5star review on October 6, 2025. eBay has a definate problem with the way it handles buyers and sellers. Their AI Bot sucks and you never get to explain your problem to a REAL person who may understand your situation a whole lot better than a BOT!!!

For a local pickup, you will need to file a Cancellation for the current sale, using Problem with buyer's address as the reason. Then you relist the item, with LOCAL PICKUP, and the buyer repurchases. When the buyer repays, ebay will send a message with a QR-code as well as a 6 digit code. The buyer brings that code for you to scan/enter into the transaction to prove delivery when s/he comes to pickup the item.
