If you want to change your default sort order so that it is always "Newly listed", try searching for something using keywords with a desktop browser. From the search results page, in the upper right where you can switch between List or Gallery view, there should be a "customize" option. Choose that option to set your default sort order.

To the right of the eBay Search window is the "Advanced" link to the search filters. Near the bottom of the list of filters are some drop down menus to narrow the search to what you want. You can save searches as well.
