How do I get a human? eBay is just a hub for thieves now that nobody is watching.
I have again had an issue where I get a defective, not working, item from an eBay seller, then return it, only to have the buyer reject the return, and eBay uphold the decision even though they have the tracking for the return. The fraudulent seller can then sell the same defective item over and over again.
I reported it to eBay and they assured me that I was protected under the policy until they rejected my claim, on the last day and sided with an obviously fraudulent seller.
I am trying to reach someone, but unless it's someone using your account fraudulent you cannot get any support.
It appears that eBay is not tended to, has died, and is not a den of thieves.
Does anybody know how to reach any person at eBay... or are they not 100% controlled by a website with no human interaction?

When a defective item arrives, go to your purchase history within 30 days of receipt, open a Return, and select the reason. In your case "item is defective". Explain the issue and add a photo to the return request. The seller will have three business days to issue a refund or a return label. If you don't get a response, then, after three business days have expired, you will be able to ask eBay to step in and issue a refund.
If the seller does respond within those 3 business days and issues a return label, ship the item back promptly. Track the package. The seller will have 2 business days after the return arrives to issue a refund. You can ask eBay to step in if the refund is not issued within that time frame.

OP3 years agoMy issue is that I did all of this. I returned the item. I used the provided label. The seller confirmed that they received the return. eBay still does not refund my money. I appealed and they upheld the original decision. They give no reason at all.. they cannot.. It is in violation of their own policy, but there is nobody I can call for "when eBay violates it's own policy."

Something sounds wrong.
If you had gone through the Ebay Return Request process, and the reason for the request was covered by Ebay's Money Back Guarantee, you should have been able to ask Ebay to step in to help you if the seller did not issue a refund after the returned item was delivered to them.
Was any reason given as to why the refund was denied?

OP3 years agoThey gave no reason and denied it in the appeal also. Item was confiermed as returned. Seller now has item plus cash. eBay is aware. eBay provides no excuse since there is nothing they could say. Just that they "upheld the original decision" and only form letter speak with no reason why they believe they should charge me and not provide the item. Worse yet... I still want the item. They could just send me a working one!

Are you opening Not As Described disputes? If you don't know what that is, answer this: Who has been paying for the return postage, you or the seller?

OP3 years agoI returned the item and the seller paid. eBay confirmed and knows it was returned.

Mentor3 years agoAt the link below, you can request a call back from eBay by clicking Have us call you on the left side of the page. If you don't see that option, click Chat with our automated assistant. Then type "agent" at the bottom in the chat box. You'll see an option to request a call back there.

If for some reason you cannot get refunded by an eBay CS agent ... you can phone your credit card company and request a chargeback from them. Just call the number on the back of the card, explain what happened and provide the tracking number that shows delivery back to the seller. That should be sufficient to get them to reverse the charges ... assuming you used a credit card to pay.
