How do I find a buyer's state from 2021 sales? Missouri is requesting sales tax.
Hi. I received a letter from Missouri suggesting that I owe sales tax money from selling on eBay in 2021. I haven't sold anything since then, and I was a hobby seller. I've downloaded an Orders CVS transaction report for my 2021 sales, but nowhere on the report does it show what state the buyer is from. I'm perplexed as to how I find this information. I've checked every column and searched for "state" as well as state abbreviations. Nothing. I have no idea how to actually contact customer service either. Any help would be appreciated.

The transaction report through your payment account includes the buyer’s state.

ebay did not state collecting MO sales tax until 2023, so depending on the volume of items you sold, you may be liable for sales tax until- I seem to remember that MO had a low threshold for requiring tax collection.
